NCIU has developed a unique educational philosophy that fulfills the needs of our international student clientele:
Individual Student Assessment
Every student gets assessed individually by the Chief Academic Officer and Registrar to ascertain if the entry requirements for the desired course are met and what prior learning can be recognized. This avoids retaking unnecessary courses and credits all verified previous educational accomplishments.
Modular Approach
For each student, NCIU develops a customized, degree-specific study program from the list of available modules that cover Biblical Theology, Systematic Theology, Historical Theology, Practical Theology, and Intercultural & Mission Studies.
Dual Mentoring System
NCIU supports students through two kinds of mentors. The first is an academic mentor, who is always appointed by NCIU and has proven expertise in the field of study. The second is a personal mentor, i.e., an encourager or personal ‘coach’, who can help and motivate students to perform with excellence along the way. Students are responsible for suggesting a personal mentor to NCIU.
Student Learning Management System
All students will be enrolled in NEO, our LMS. Every module contains module descriptors, free PDF literature, a study guide (if appropriate), lectures/videos, at least one quiz, and the student feedback form that needs to be returned at the end of the module.
Scholarships
NCIU grants individually evaluated scholarships to students, who cannot afford the full fees of the program that they apply for. Previous NCIU graduates, who want to continue their education with NCIU, are entitled to apply for a scholarship. In return for a scholarship, students are expected to contribute to NCIU’s educational work as and when the need arises.
Free Taster Course
Prospective students can ‘test drive’ NCIU by taking the course “Old Testament Survey” or “Hebrew Thinking” for free. Credits gained will be transferred if the student enrolls with NCIU. Simply send a request to [email protected].
