New Covenant International University was founded by Dr. Kevin Dyson in 1978 in Auckland, New Zealand. It began as New Covenant International Bible College and was accredited by the New Zealand Qualifying Agency (NZQA). In the years that followed, it expanded into a worldwide presence, becoming what is now NCIU.
In 1993 NCIU moved its headquarters from New Zealand to Lake Worth, Florida, USA. From 1990, a foundational stream of almost five thousand students from about fifty nations earned awards from NCIU. These ranged from entry-level certificates to Bachelor and Master degrees, with many students becoming Doctoral graduates. One of them was Ed Cole, founder of Christian Men’s Network and author of Maximized Manhood.
Dr. Dyson served as its President until 2019, when he retired. He is now honored as President Emeritus of NCIU. In 2019, a new Board of Directors was installed.
NCIU continues to furnish institutions around the globe with curricula, oversight, and certification for their programs, granting degrees to their qualifying student graduates.
The new board established the New Covenant International Ministry Alliance and Fellowship (NCIMAF), a worldwide alliance of Christian churches and ministries, mission organizations and ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Every member is dedicated to walking together in the advancement of God’s kingdom.
